After all, they can each relate to anyone who falls in love with this area at first sight. Stan is a Ph.D. and former physics professor and industrial engineering consultant. Originally from Brooklyn, New York (he grew up just blocks away from legendary Ebbets Field) and later living in Texas, he and his wife, Diane, discovered Maggie Valley after their kids had all grown and moved out. They knew this was the perfect place to come and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life. Though they love traveling the world and visiting their children and grandchildren throughout the country, they always enjoy coming back home for some hiking, picnics and rafting adventures in the Smokies.

George, on the other hand, discovered Western North Carolina as the perfect place for him and his wife, Suzanne, to raise their two daughters, Meaghan and Laurna. A former police officer and bodyguard in Florida, he wanted a safer area for his family with virtually no crime and great schools, as well as a place where his daughters could fully enjoy the beauty and wonder of nature. When George gets some free time, he enjoys riding ATV’s in the mountains, but most of his time outside work is spent making quality time for his family. Whether it’s volunteering at his daughter’s school or just spending a quiet day at home with his family, who are his greatest source of inspiration.

Stan and George both started their successful real estate careers upon moving to Western North Carolina.
